Here is my Mario Kart Item Alignment.

Good: Bullet Bill

We can pretty much all agree that the Bullet Bill is the best Mario Kart item. It can turn a lost race into a race you can actually win.

Overrated: Bob-omb

The Bob-omb isn't as good as it's cracked up to be, as you have to drop the item behind you in order to block Red Shells, and you'll probably get caught in the blast anyway.

Underrated: POW Block

It's a shame the POW Block doesn't get enough credit. Sure, it's a less effective Lightning, but it also has some hidden gems to it. For example, it's going to make everyone in front of the user lose their items, helping the user in some way, shape, or form. Not to mention it's a really interesting gimmick.

Neutral: Super Leaf

The Super Leaf is okay. You can hit players next to you, but the attack range is tiny.

Overhated: Blue Spiny Shell

While the Blue Spiny Shell isn't a good item, I want to stand up for this one and say that it's nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be.

Underhated: Super Horn

The Super Horn is basically filler, especially considering you can already avoid the Blue Spiny Shell via Mushroom boosting. On the plus side, it does provide for some defense.

Bad: Thunder Cloud

Most of us can agree that the Thunder Cloud is the worst Mario Kart item. It's literally the only Mario Kart item that hurts you.
