I was passing the time by watching the Super Mario Bros. Super Show that my parents gave me a few Christmases ago, and man that show is a trip! I actually thought it was hilarious... half because of the humor, half because of how stupid it is. So I figured I would draw up and color the classic Mario Bros., Toad, and Princess Toadstool.Also, kind of a present for MKDrawings because I still love his drawings and also I still feel like a dick for a conversation we had a long time ago. So I guess you could say this is a "hey here's a random Mario!" gift? xD idk I don't even remember what we were talking about all those years ago but he was on my mind so here you go lol

SMB Super Show was good, except the song was amazing.

I always liked the SMBSS, despite how dumb it was it times. In fact, I'm using it to inspire several scenes, character designs, and voices for the fan pitch I am sending to Sony and Nintendo for the upcoming animated Mario movie (it hasn't been officially announced yet, but a leaked report states that it is scheduled to be released in 2017, and is in the very early stages of production). In my pitch, Toad looks EXACTLY the same as he does in the SMBSS, except his shoes are brown and his vest is blue. And if my pitch is adopted, John Stocker (who voiced him in the SMBSS) will be reprising his role. In my pitch, Koopa looks EXACTLY the same as he does in the SMBSS, except he has white eyeballs and red irises instead of yellow eyeballs and only pupils, and he wears a black cape. Also, unlike in the SMBSS, this version of Koopa actually breathes fire.
In addition to John Stocker reprising his role as Toad, in my pitch, Jeannie Elias and Harvey Atkin, who respectively voiced Princess Toadstool and King Koopa in the SMBSS, will be voicing characters, but not the characters they once voiced. Elias will be voicing a hag (in her "Birdo" voice) that meets Mario (who in my pitch is supposed to be voiced by, in his voice acting debut, and speaking in a lower, gruffer version of his "Jordan Belfort" voice, Leonardo DiCaprio) in the forest and develops a crush on him, much to the annoyance of Peach (who in my pitch is supposed to be voiced by Isla Fisher). Atkin will be voicing Kamek, (in a higher-pitched version of his "King Koopa" voice) the second-in-command of King Koopa (who in my pitch is supposed to be voiced by Christian Bale, speaking in a deeper, more malevolent version of his "Batman" voice)

Everyone says he's really annoying, but he's actually not too bad. It was evident that he really cared about the princess and they were actually like best friends... it was kinda cute. He COULD be annoying at times, but I've heard way more annoying characters xD

Is so stupid.
I realize it was made back when Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 2 were the only Mario games in existence, so they didn't have much to go by, but that's no excuse for not having the Goombas exist, having the Koopa Troopas look so weird, and having "King Koopa" look so unlike the games.

To be fair to the King Koopa part, this was made before Super Mario World, when Bowser appeared on the official game art in his modern form for the first time. In fact, Bowser in the cartoon looks more like modern Bowser than Bowser does in the official art for SMB1. In that art, he has NO horns, YELLOW hair, BLUE skin, BLACK eyebrows, and a GRAY snout. Between 1985 and 1990, Bowser had no "official design." His appearance in the cartoons was just another design from that time. He also appeared that way in the Valiant comics, in Super Mario Bros. Print World (1991), and in a French commercial for Super Mario Bros. 3.

It was stupid xD but remember, it was made in the 80s and there were only two games at the time so it's not like they had much to go off of. The puns were so bad, the pasta jokes were all over the place and desperate, but if I had the choice to watch these cartoons when I was a kid growing up, I'd probably watch it. It still makes me laugh and I guess that's all they were aiming for xD
