To be fair, people do tend to get more comfortable around friends, even sometimes to the extent of not being all that shy about nudity. Well, at least this is from a girl's perspective anyway. (Not saying what you say is invalid, just pointing it out) I have no idea how guys feel about nudity around friends though, and yeah I've noted that detail in the show as well.

Very good point, the writers are practically saying: "Hey Arthur and Merlin, yeah they're a thing!!!"

I like to call it his "big Arthur," but whatever.

And Merlin probably gave him plenty of sponge baths, too. I mean, Arthur is king. Surely he doesn't have to wash his OWN junk.

Personally, I like to think Merlin enjoys this aspect of his job.
