Description
So it is finally here my final Roster for a fictional Xbox-centered platform fighter, or as I call this project Xbox X Fighters. For this roster I wanted to try and make it as diverse as possible which is part of why I wanted to avoid more than two characters from the same franschise, and I took a lot of things into consideration, ties between developers, history, exclusivity, recent events, I mean I set out on this roster around the time the Xbox One was announced, so I wanted it to be as perfect as possible before I started posting the profiles, but as I was making them I noted changes I wanted to make along the way. Take for example there are some characters I made profiles for that didn't make the final roster, Big Daddy would be on here if SMITE was announced to be coming to Xbox One, when I found out Dust would no longer be considered First Party he took the third party spot for Warlock from Destiny (thank god,) then there was the whole Minecraft thing, Ailish almost got a slot if I didn't give Xbox Avatar a slot, and then put Rayne in to fill the slot left by Volta (who would be attached to avatar. Another more recent change was for each Icon to add a bit more visual diversity I used a different picture for each characters Icon rather than just the head from the render used for their profile, but sadly for some characters I couldn't because the one before was just so perfect. Then there was the whole thing about not being satisfied with the original render. Not too mention the characters considered in early though process that didn't even get put into my original document such as Splosion Man, Ilo & Milo, and Dom, but then thought they would better work either as assist characters (but more on that later.) I was considering putting in Sunset Overdrive fighter but it would then be another nameless character and there already is plenty, Hero of Bowerstone, Avatar, Pilot, and Agent, not only that but I feel Sunset may be better represented through a stage and items. But i can go on and on and on, about the process, and explain how my brain works, why a butt ton of characters from my original rosters are not on here, and how I would like to see a game like this designed but as I mentioned in an early Journal post I will be making a whole journal post thing after I'm done, and just because this is up doesn't mean I'm done. I'm currently working on putting together the base for the group pic, then I have all the rivalry sketches I want to do. But anyway here is the full roster:
