This is WR963. My parents and my older brother run the Shackleton Preservation Trust, a charity to get her airworthy. She's had a repaint, and does regular engine runs now

It's going really well! I think the next engine run is at night sometime early december which will be cool. Then next year they're hoping to start fast taxi runs up and down the runway with guests on board They're still a lot of money off getting her in the air yet though.

No idea for the price of the taxi runs as its still in the works at the mo, though the nightime engine run I'm pretty sure is on the 10th December. My bf is doing like a laser light show thing around it as it fires up. Should be cool. I'll let you know as soon as I know anything more about the taxi runs

Nice, im actually talking about the two we have here in Capetown. The one thats about to be taken apart has been an ornament near the inner gate at Ysterplaat AFB for years. The other one still runs.. for now.

You have two in Cape Town? Sadly, we just have the one on static display.

Yeah, the Rolls-Royce Griffon engines are epic to hear.
last of our Really big piston birds excluding our c130's.
I believe the one that still runs is 1722.
