Description Put me to the light and try to read through
I may be a letter but I'm not for you
I'll double my skin with more cotton and glue
For this is the only way I can stay true

I've been returned and my stamps have decayed
My triangle smile persists in its place
Outside my ink runs but inside I'm still staid
The name might have changed, I don't know the case

Claw harder at my fold and I might give in
The pen's blood is now closer than just kin
Hold your breath deeply for what I keep inside
If it hadn't been here all along I could have died

And as I put you against the lamp again
I remember light penetrates around, not within
Your halo continues to mock me its best
My name is not the one whose carved in your chest

its quite a work you have here, it seems your talking about a letter you are scared to open. i have quite a few letters that i keep that hold the same meaning to me. though i know what lies inside them i dare not read them again.
