Name: Barley
Pronouns: She/her
Species: Quillrend
Occupation: Librarian
Location: Artisan City, Library
Personality: Barley was rescued from the scene of a cave-in as a small puppy where her nose and hind legs were broken and her tail had been paralyzed. Her tail had to be amputated as it was detrimental to her healing, especially since she wasn't even that great at walking yet. Due to her intelligence, she was raised very much like a little Snakekey. She took interest in schooling and so she went. As she grew older, she refused to leave the city and return to the wild as it had become her home. As she wasn't really around others of her species, she acts very much like a keke. Since she can't speak their language, she communicates with them through sign language, canine noises, and body language. Despite lacking the vocal chords to talk, Barley can read and write (although the latter is a bit tricky). She's very calm and perfectly fine with large groups of people. Good with hatchlings and finds their energy amusing. Enjoys the outdoors, but is also quite patient and doesn't mind sitting inside to do her job
