~pr0metheus had a pet praying mantis for about an hour. I took pictures of them bonding.It really liked to jump on my camera.

My family and I went on a camping trip last year and were fortunate enough to find a praying mantis, too, and it also loved the camera. It fluttered all around at us and the lens.

I have some mantis shots in my gallery. This little guy would come down and challenge my cats when they were in the entry and he was on the wall or the plant. I had to rescue him several times!

I heard that mantises were very intelligent and curious. My husband says they seem to be drawn to people and like to play.

I must say, the mantis is quite cute. I like the plain gey background contrasting the orangy mantis! I think a white border would make it stand out a bit more.

Not to mention they're about the most anthropomorphic bugs. Honestly. Look at the little guy's face, it's like "Hi! I am a friendly little praying mantis! Don't you want to be my friend?" Yes. Yes we do.
