I forget to state something important, as you see both Skipper and Sparky's design has changed. This happend because my first version of them didn't actually repressent the characters the way I wanted them to. So I decided to change them. My friend helped me a lot with skipper's design. The difficult part was drawing an expression for him that would also mirror his character. As for sparky's desing he is inspired by another human version of him and another character from an Anime. But if it stills look familiar then I'll add a link to the original art and we will act as this is just a cover.

Couldn't help it, It just make more sense for his real name to be Dustin, and "Dusty" to be a nickname. The other thing is that I even picked the dates of their birthday with the zodiac sign that fitted their personallities (I don't know anything about zodiac signs and I had to searched for this too.) So yep.

That was my reasoning too. XD Nice that you put all that detail into the characters! I have done some detail work for my version of the characters, though I still haven't developed birthdays or similar details for anyone who isn't Dusty...
