Summary:
Legend speaks of the Old Heroes who fought bravely but were ultimately defeated in a chaotic war set in the midst of a dramatic climate change that rocked the planet of Shuggazoom. Long after stories fade to legend, Shuggazoom regresses into a pre-industrial age home to multiple societies, including the cruel Skeletal Empire - as ruled by a victorious and immortal Skeleton King. But though there are still parts of the world where people are free to live out their lives as they see fit, there is a hidden danger that threatens the planet once more...and heroes are in desperately short supply.

In the little town of Savillrow, Robot Monkeys and siblings, Torah and Siddhartha, have no intention of adopting the heroic mantle their kind is so famous for. But their fragile lives are suddenly turned upside down when a mysterious stranger reveals that they have an astonishing connection to the Old Heroes and Skeleton King will stop at nothing to suppress an uprising that may be inspired by their very existence. Along with several other Robot Monkeys also hunted by the Empire, the siblings embark on a journey to not only save themselves, but to find their greater purpose in this twisted world.

THIS IS NOT A COMIC.

There might be some parts which will be done in comic form, but mostly it's just old-fashioned writing. Comics take a long time for me to do because of (a) lack of skill and (b) lack of motivation to commit to doing a very long comic. So if you want to know the story, you gotta read it.

Things you should know just in case:

There are two Mandarins presented in "The Light Brigade". The first Mandarin is the original Mandarin. He's a good guy now attempting to redeem himself for his past mistakes. The other Mandarin is his clone who's working for Skeleton King. He is mostly addressed as Manderclone to avoid confusion.

The "Old Heroes" refers to the Hyperforce.

This story takes place approximately 150 years after the Hyperforce was defeated

I made some Golden Rules to guide myself while writing in this universe because it got so complicated:

Rule the First: Absolutely, positively NO highly advanced technology, with the exception of a useful transporter which allows teleportation across vast distances.

Rule the Second: Skeleton King is not a maniac who wants to take over the universe, he's aspiring to be a mostly benevolent ruler, and you're going to be HAPPY being ruled by him or else he'll rip your heart out! So no evil laughter and no mindless killing unless he's really pissed off.

Rule the Third: Everyone is all shades of grey. Every character - no matter how minor or major - has a selfish motive they want to achieve. There are a few exceptions, but they are few and far between.
