Final Fantasy VI - Shadow and InterceptorDesign Details - With Shadow the main thing I wanted was that he shouldn't look like a standard ninja, I wanted him to have a bit more personality. I used elements from a range of sources (all from his Final Fantasy Wiki page). The colours are fairly subdued compared to what I could have done but still a little bright..I think my art style needs vibrant colours to really work at its best. Interceptor was based on a doberman and is just a huge beast of a dog. Overall I think this is a fair representation of the characters.

A lot more colour than I normally picture on Shadow, but I tend to favour game sprites over Amano art fairly heavily. nice costume design though, the belt/skirt combo and headdress thing look pretty cool. Interceptor looks badass too. Background is sweet, very Final Fantasy style. Definitely looking forward to more of these guys. Don't forget Umaro!

The in game sprite is cool but it doesn't really give a great deal to go on when drawing him so I took influence from a range of sources (not just Amano!) and this was the result..glad you like anyhoo, more soon.

I didn't know there were other sources for FFVI other than the sprites and amano art. It's pretty damn criminal that FFVI is yet to get any kind of remake, sequel or spin-off, because it's definitely one of the best in the series.
Maybe you're inspiring me to start drawing FFVI guys!

There's a few bits and pieces on the Final Fantasy wiki, but all of it is vague in some way..
Would be nice to get something new from FFVI you're right, certainly one of the best.
Maybe you should draw some, they'd look good in your style.
