Pencils and colours: (Me!)Inks: Jamie Snell (thanks!)
This cover (pencils by me and lineart by Jamie Snell aka Ragelion) was done for a big IDW Cover contest over at the IDW Publishing forums.
We managed to get third place on just three votes in a group with very rough competition, particularly from who got about 50% of the votes in (around 70 votes and very much deserved as he's a great artist! Check out his work!).
Sadly to make it to round two, you had to get second place. Still since there were 14 participants in our group, I'm at least very happy with third place (my goal was top five anyway), especially since I was the only one that didn't (couldn't) ink it myself and thus was reliant on others. Ragelion did a very good job of it if I say so myself and I'm thankful his efforts allowed us to participate afterall. So thank you Rage, very happy to have done a coΓΆ
Hopefully LittleIron will do well in the next rounds - of the 250ish people there's still roughly 40-50 people that made it to the next round. YES, there were that many participants! Good luck LIN!
Anyway, decided to put some colours on it, since I do have the tools for colouring.
My idea for the cover was that both Red Alert and Scourge tracked the saboteurs Apeface and Spasma (Apeface's nervous headmaster partner) to Antarctica. Only Red Alert traced a mayday signal and Scourge took 'm down. Why? Who knows, try to imagine why a pair of Decepticon saboteurs would be tracked down by another Decepticon.
I'd tell you the rest if there was any, but I think you can speculate about the storyline from there.
Transformers are (c) Hasbro and all that jazz.
