Would make sense as he led an entire nation to subjugate the entire world under Britannian rule believing, conflict and strive will continually grow humanity and allowed his children to fight eachother for the honor of succeeding him in thr throne if anything with the exception of Euphy, Shirley, and Milly the entirety of Britannia would be filled with darkness that it would be a feeding ground for the Heartless.

Though I can see the Master of Masters warning Charles to not allow the darkness to consume him, and his arrogance leading to his eventual defeat by Lelouch, Sora, and Suzaku becoming some form of Heartless as despite being immortal it doesn't mean he can't become a Heartless, though with how strong his will and heart is there's a chance Charles would've birthed a Nobody and that would be dangerous.
