I dunno what might help you to improve instantly, theres many ways to paint, draw, and do art. theres always the basics you could go back to but thats super boring (no one likes hearing this one). A lot of it is just experimenting and doing more and more art even if it seems bad. : I
as for sai, its softer and less defined, you can download a bunch of brushes just from here to do such experimenting.
