I think the writers sometimes forget that they're ponies and use sayings that don't make much sense in the MLP word. Like this, for example.

Maybe she was referring to magic bullets. I'm sure there are some unicorns who use bullets as magic. I think in that episode in.. Applosia or something, there were some ponies with guns in their cutie marks. I may be wrong though.

Makes sense, even if they're all about harmony and friendship, it just the ponies, most of the other species either, don't care or don't like them, so it would be belivable that they have guns in their world, it's just that the ponies don't have them
