Description
Another important work for me, because it started out just as a study of an arm, and came out as something monumental (all the "objects" are drawn on 100x70 cm paper), like a giant statue, that does not move and has a certain aura of tranquility but at the same time just looms above you. At this moment I started feeling that drawings lack the near-totality of sculpture (where you have space, though there is no time, unlike in dance - or rather the viewer creates their own time depending on how long they look at the sculpture). So even though the charcoal drawing as a medium lacks so much, another important thing I'm concentrating on is monumentalism, to try and cause as much of an impact as possible. As of today I'm failing horribly.
