I'ver never really tried macro work. This weekend there was some rain and in the morning I tried a few close ups of some lemons in the tree with rain drops on them. I'm not really happy with them though

haha, well i think my interest in macros came from not being able to capture anything else to my liking. i'm really picky about my shots, i never really like them. then with the new snow there were such beautiful picture opportunities of the sun glistening off the snow, but my camera doesn't seem to have the capabilities to do it justice. so i decided to take macros of ice, which was everywhere

I know what you mean about being picky....I'm the same with my own. I hardly ever like stuff I take and right now I look at my shots and they seem really weak.
I'd love to have a crack at taking some shots of snow though....I guess the challange is not over-exposing, so you want a really small aperture and fast shutter speeds, and getting the white balance set up correctly

yea, its fun to play with everything and its good that it is the beginning of winter, cause then i'll have plenty of opportunities to practice with snow shots
