-entered it into Rain contest

- this was my first attempt at coloring digitally. it took me an afternoon.
please give me as many tips as possible so i can improve as much as possible.

Very cool, and truly captivating eyes. The halo of water is brilliant, and gives an ethereal quality the piece that I really like.
The subtle indication of the rain streaming down in the back- and foregrounds comes off very well.
The plastered-down wet hair and the streamers of rain down the side of her face are expertly done too.
Your first line in the artist's comments section remind me of a conversation I once had with *Adreanna . She said, like you, "sometimes its good to put down the umbrella." We both ended up drenched, but it was fun... Especially the looks people gave us as I carried a 3ft golf umbrella furled up despite lashing rain...

personally i like it black and white....maybe u can use tones of black in the first one....or not..
