Can I ask a technical question...
Did you do the shading by hand using the burn and dodge tools or some other way? (you can just say 'some other way' if you want, lol)

i mainly shaded by hand, selecting colors and then airbrushing, especially on her skintones.
but then i used the burn a little bit on the dress, just to darken it up a bit in the creases.

I'm trying to do a picture of my boyfriend drumming at the moment. I haven't done a boy before and I'm trying to step outside the realms of red, white and black...I dont like it...

Did you do it in illustrator?
I find it frustrating that photoshop doesn't have the same quality of brushes that illustrator does, but then I can't cut out objects in illustrator which is a big part of what I do.
I guess I'll just have to import things in and out..

i stuck it in illustrator and used live trace and paint, cause i'm kinda lazy
then i put it in photoshop and did the shading.

yes, tell her. it will help her, even though she might say "whatever" and..you know stuff like that..she'll feel better inside even though she might not show it.
