Marc is serious, smart and awkward. A lot of times he doesn’t know what he should answer so he tends to be quiet and stray away from conversations. He is much better with fighting and likes to solve all problems with a battle.
Nowadays he is calmer, since he doesn’t trust his fighting skills so much anymore because of his leg. Still, he never backs down from a challenge and tends to be ylimielinen. He hates losing and does everything he can to prevent it, even lie and cheat.
Despite that he likes to help and hates seeing others in trouble. He especially has a soft spot for young pokemon.

Marcus isn’t all that good with talking and usually leaves all of it to Smith. He also doesn’t trust easily and doesn’t actively try to find new friends. So not worth it. It doesn’t help that he is self-concious about his leg.

Smith likes everyone. He likes communicating with new pokemon and listening to their stories. He himself isn’t a smooth talker or clever with his words. Mostly he just chatters about irrelevant things and never digs deeper.
When he is travelling only with Marc he tends to be quieter. He still does most of the talking between the two of them. He doesn’t mind, but he wishes Marcus would talk more.
Smith loves fighting about as much as his partner – and he too hates losing. He also doesn’t like to be underestimated and critisizes others if they question his powers. Smith and Marc make a very powerful pair together.

Smith like to keep an eye on things. He often flies ahead to look at the area, while Marc follows him on foot. Smith would carry him if he could – although he also really likes riding on Marc’s back.
