Lots o' dakka, but still not enuff.

I like the simplicity of it.

JohnTheImaginative In reply to hard-tonic [2010-07-19 19:58:12 +0000 UTC]

Dakka: Ork slang for guns. Derived from the sound that a machine gun makes when it fires. One can never have enuff dakka. No exceptions.

This is a great start dude, I hope you keep going with it...IE-refining the missile container...making it more technical etc. (seems a bit square right now) and keep adding detail to it. It's a fantastic concept, and if you keep going with it, it could be amazing!

hey cheers for the kind comments, always good to get feedback from other people and your views etc. i agree on the missiles they are to boxy, i think that hydrolic tubes more bolts and maybe a few more panels with detail could take it to the next level. again thanks for the comments

great robot model i like all the detail you've put into this. Detail is always something nice to look at especially when its on a good concept and model, which this is And I cant forget to mention its a nice render too. Thats something I still need to master in maya - texturing as well as rendering and lighting. I actually read that off your deviant profile but it applys to me too.

hard-tonic In reply to SonicTheHedgeTrimmir [2010-06-23 22:34:48 +0000 UTC]

again thank you sonic,
yeah lighting the model correctly and getting the renders can be really tuff, the war-bot took 30 mins to render!!! hell of alot of time to wait if it comes out not how you wanted it. lol. its still an art im trying to perfect and at times failing lol

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SonicTheHedgeTrimmir In reply to hard-tonic [2010-06-24 10:45:28 +0000 UTC]

Your welcome lol that is a long time, you must be rendering with full quality and ambient occlusion im guessing, the longest ive waited is only about 10 minutes lol.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

hard-tonic In reply to SonicTheHedgeTrimmir [2010-06-24 15:01:49 +0000 UTC]

yeah im rendering in mental ray in TGA full 1080p hd, e passes are beauty and ambient occlution . alot of the textures and bumps etc are pretty big files, also with the walls being phong shaders and the reflectivity being jumped up there is alot to calculate.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SonicTheHedgeTrimmir In reply to hard-tonic [2010-06-27 05:12:34 +0000 UTC]

indeed that is a lot to calculate

hey thanks alot for the kind words and checking out the finished peice.

TLund [2010-06-22 15:02:23 +0000 UTC]

Now we can see the details

Pretty good, the amount and quality of details on the legs is great, but somehow itΒ΄s make the body look a little plain, may be you could add some details over the body's texture.

I will love to see a render from the other side, because the reflect of the gattling gun on the wall looks great.

Great work!!

hard-tonic In reply to TLund [2010-06-22 16:46:26 +0000 UTC]

hey tlund always great to have feed back, so again thank you for your kind words. and yeah a render from the other side would be a good idea, maybe i should do all angles like the model sheet? but i will do a render of the left side. again many thanks

Nice update! The details show well, great work!

It is excellent as is I hope you don't mind if I mention other items/details that might be fun to add, -'cause it's already awesome ( I think ) .

These are items you might Photoshop in (the blood looks fresh ); smoke from the gun, shells on the ground from firing, and depending on how heavy you want the mech to look -you might add in cracks on the ground around the mech's feet, or 'foot prints' from the mech. Of course, no need to add 'em, no pressure, I'm just letting my imagination goof off
