It's the 'B's of British puppet shows! Also a bit of a B list for me, so this one's going into Scraps.

(It's not meant to be hate art at all, but still feels weird to have it in my main gallery if I'm not into at least one of the shows, plus the desc's turned into a little bit of a rant against Basil Brush's basic design.) :/

Bodger & Badger was alright: missed a trick by not having the human being the one named Badger, and I recall its main premise being that the people getting hit by mashed potatoes was hilarious, which wasn't really my thing, but fair play!

As for Basil Brush, I never found Basil Brush's quips funny, not at all helped by how his rich-person personality mixed with his being a fox felt like a fox hunting reference, and this was while it was still wholly legal. (For anyone outside of the UK, context + [Content warning: Animal abuse]: fox hunting here is a brutal and cruel blood sport almost entirely for rich people. They're horrible to their own dogs, and it's not uncommon for other people's pets to get killed in hunts.) So yeah, not so great... At least other fancy fox characters tend towards a story where they're using their wily ways against the odds, but Basil was just being rich and making jokes.

THAT ASIDE, foxes and badgers are great animals, and it was fun to draw. I hope any proper fans who see this enjoy it!

...Y'know, with a little bit of deviousness added into Basil's personally, I think these two together would have good comic potential in a very Black Adder/Boldrick way!
