Description
The plan was to do a set of earth pony pics, which each one having a horsy scientist/engineer pic + a show-style pic + another horsy pic in some random style (Pinkie's was going to be Film Noir), but I'm not sure I have the energy for this project any more... Oh well. Have some Cheerilee! I like to think she a degree before moving to Ponyville and becoming a school teacher.

Headcanon on earth pony 'magic': Earth pony magic is, basically, science. They "get" the relationship between physical object more readily and even those who aren't academically inclined can appear to have physics follow their will. Those who are academic, however, can quickly learn to turn their understanding into fancy graphs!

Examples of earth ponies doing this 'magic' include:
Engineering machines (examples of flying machines in the show include Pinkie Pie's flying cycle and Cherry Berry's helicopter, plus Doctor Whooves had a plane-like design in his lab)
Engineering weapons (Hooffields and McColts attack each other with catapults and more)
General building (almost all of the show's builders were earth ponies)
Knowing the weak points on rocks to easily destroy them (practiced by the Pie family)
Knowing where to kick a tree so that all of the fruit fall into previously-placed baskets
That's my favourite headcanon at least. Also like the idea that earth pony 'magic' is having cutie marks with a broader meaning, thus allowing extra 'special talent', and the idea that earth ponies are more empathetic to plants, which, given that Equestrian plants are canon as being sentient (Poison Joke has a sense of humour and Zap Apples have preferences), isn't a bad ability. The latter idea also goes well with the show-canon mentions of earth-pony abilities ("I'unno, something to do with plants?"), which is cool. I prefer science horses though!
