Description
Some old alicorn headcanons:
- Normally mature alicorns keep part of their old hairstyle (Celestia has that flick of hair under her ear and Luna has her fringe)
- Nightmaring happens to alicorns only when they're too overwhelmed with negative emotion (though I am happy ignoring the canon of the story where they lassoed the moon)
- Post-nightmare redemption, the cutie mark keeps the blotched black background as seen on Luna's

(I realised as I did it that Nightmare Moon's also the only wavy-haired alicorn we've seen with blotchy hair, so I could have included that had I not noticed too late.)

This pic was meant to have the dark-background cutie marks included, but then I should have come up with the different colour scheme ones (Nightmare Moon's cutie mark is on blue-on-purple blotches), cutie marks are a pain to draw anyway, and I knew this was destined for scraps. Similarly I didn't bother with the nightmare eyelashes, ha.

ALSO, they get better nightmare names than "Nightmare Rarity" because honestly. Fashion Nightmare, Sew Bad, or maybe (my favourite) Dark Designer? It's not too hard to come up with something better than "Nightmare [Name]".

Not sure what drove this lot to nightmaring, but maybe go with Famine or Bad Apple for Applejack and Black Storm for Dash ("Black" against "Rainbow" and "Storm" can also mean "rush"). Fluttershy and Pinkie are harder, but maybe something wild like "Feral Instinct" for the former and "Gate Crash" for Pinkie if there's not a good party pun. Again, this is going straight to Scraps, so it's not a big deal, just has to be better than "Nightmare [Name]". I mean, I know you can translate "Luna" as "moon", but that linked to the "Mare in the Moon" pun, and at the very least there was translation, not just "Nightmare Luna".
