In my mind they're both female (based on face shape like is generally the case with ponies) but I don't mind other people interpreting it differently.

I mean is Chrysalis the only female because she's an insect "queen" or are there males and females? confusing

Worker ants/wasp/bees are all female too, the males play a very small part in insect colonies. It's part of why I see the changelings we saw as all female!

Those two changelings got the right idea, I wonder do they can just take other ponies form and show their love to one another publicly, just imagine if one of them turn into Twilight, other turn into RainbowDash, and they make scene in Ponyvile, I am sure that Twilight and RainbowDash will have a lot explaining to do for next few weeks.
