EDIT: Changed the text/speech bubbles somewhat to make it easier to read (I hope).Mostly inspired by people complaining that he's been effectively neutered as a villain. I never saw him as evil myself (just crazy and powerful) but do get their point, and it's a shame we'll probably not see him as a villain again. Plus I didn't remotely enjoy the episode... Oh well. Maybe next one?
And no, I'm not sure what happened with proportions in this (especially the first two panels).

Problem in this episode was that they did a perfect character development... by BUTCHERING the characters.
Celestia was totally Out Of Character here. Remember how she was with Discord the first time? Okay, an army of Changelings attack Canterlot? She gets upset but keeps calm and collected. The Crystal Empire appears after 1000 years? Again, totally calm as she explains everything to Twilight and trust her completely, even when Luna had her doubts. Discord gets free? She totally looses it! Discord is the one and only character that has made her upset, and here she's just not only deciding that he should be freed and "reformed" (I'll explain the quotes later), but just drops him by, and leaves. Just leaves.
As for Discord using his power for "good instead of evil" that goes against everything we learn of him as a character in 'The Return of Harmony'. He's chaos, chaos is not evil. He MAY seem evil in the eyes of Celestia and the others because they represent Harmony, the opposite of Discord, yes, but by "reforming" him and stuff like that they are totally negating who he is and what he represents. Not to mention that he's free just as long as he keeps himself in check. Not one slip up, or BACK TO BEING A STATUE FOR YOU! ZAP! It's like he's out of prison and will be kept in check, forever, and ever, till the end of eternity! And what does he need to do to stay "free", well, just NOT BEING DISCORD all the time, forever. Sure, he can have friends, but only if he completely goes 180 degrees against his nature. And while we're on that: Why would Discord care about having a friend? He's a freaking force of nature! He should care about having friends as much as a tornado would... seriously, "Keep Calm and Flutter on" is such a bad episode in so many levels...

Not to mention that using one's friendship as leverage to get what one wants is really not good. It's like when emotionally abusive sorts keep the person they're dating in line by threatening to break up with them if they don't do what they're told.

Think the episode, as with most of the Season 3 episodes, would of been better if they had been 2 part episodes. Way to many of them felt rushed.

Maybe... I see lots of 11min-ep shows manage well though. I think maybe the script writers just don't leave themselves enough time for the ending. Even a short montage of Fluttershy and Discord doing stuff together and starting to really act like friends would have made a huge difference.
