Description For those of you who for some reason don't remember: The mutagen of the Teenage Mutant Ninja/Hero Turtles series turned animals into furries, i.e. humanoids with animal heads. It also turned humans into furries (rather than, say, human-headed animals).

MLP-world mutagen is here being taken to turn ponies and non-ponies into equinoids (pony-shaped beings) with animal heads based upon the original non-pony species.

Thus our mane girls become a equinoid version of their pets.* AND BECOME NINJAS!

I'm not sure we were ever given reason to believe that the mutagen wouldn't turn human and pet into basically the same animal... Hm. At any rate these are ponies. Theriomorphed ponies. I think I'll call them manies.

RAINBOW IN A HALF-SHELL, PONY POWER!

* Okay, "non-ponies they most come into contact with" is more accurate here on account of Spike but it makes the sentence kinda long.

Equinoid = Equine + Humanoid

Kinda! In general, ~oid means -like, so equinoid = equine-like

I see
Nowadays, people would use it to refer to equine-legged anthro horses, ponies, donkeys, mules, and/or zebras,

Have they turned into pony-hybrids of themselves?
If not then should not Rainbow be more like a Kooa Paratroopa from SUper Mario Bros?

Hm, maybe...?

It's been ages since I drew this one!

It would have made more sense if the Pets + Spike had turned into Pony hybrid version of themselves.

This is actually the ponies mutated after touching their pets (like Splinter with his rats), so no turtles!

Plus this was before I'd started watching TMNT (2012), which I only got around to recently but now I love the series! Should do fanart sometime...

Twilight should be an Owl, not a dragon, and Spike would be a Phoenix.

Spike's not there... And Twilight spends more time around Spike than Owlowicious, I thought?

Oh, wow. That seems like a remarkably silly choice to make!

Still, might be fun whatever it is, if only in the same way as Spiderman 3, i.e. okay so long as you ignore the awesome stuff it was meant to be based on.

Oh Hollywood! You and your disregard for fans in order to appeal to general masses!

That's nice, but one thing :

"The mutagen of the Teenage Mutant Ninja/Hero Turtles series turned animals into furries, i.e. humanoids with animal heads"

Gosh, stop saying that's furry everywhere, TMNT isn't furry. It's just anthropomorphized turtles, rat and some other animals...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

HareTrinity In reply to KodoK37 [2012-03-23 16:54:48 +0000 UTC]

...By what definition isn't that furry?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

KodoK37 In reply to HareTrinity [2012-03-23 19:34:35 +0000 UTC]

Because that show isn't furry.

Everyone should stop saying that everything who have some anthropomorphized animals is related to furry. A thing is furry only if its creator is a furry, and I don't think Kevin Eastman and Peter Laid are furries.

But I don't want to annoy you with that, so I'll stop here ^^'

The general definition of "furry" is "funny animals" and relates to any animal character showing human characteristics, so any talking animals are included.

Generally "furry" is today used with characters to mean a specific type of anthropormorphism in which an animal is given a humanoid body with varying amount of animal characteristics, though normally the lower end (neko girls, etc) don't count.

The concept is unrelated to the other definition of furry, i.e. people who are part of the "furry fandom".

So:

"That (real life) person is a furry" = That person considers themselves a furry (may have a "fursona", dress in fursuits, attend conventions, etc, do a combination of those things or none of them at all)

"That character is a furry" = That character is a humanoid with an animal face

Hoorah multiple definitions!
