Description
I did this comic page mainly to test if I was able to do a comic in colors, and not just any colors, but done TRADITIONALLY. It was a fun thing to try out(There's some digital effects added to it later). This page, combined with another drawing I did inspired me to do an actual comic, so hopefully as soon as I have time, I'll start drawing it!Β(C) Jey Levang/Harkill

Thaaanks! I'm hoping to do comics with this coloring style!!! I just need the time for it xD Though I believe it's less time consuming than full color digitally, it just needs more... courage I think, when working digitally you don't have to worry to screw up, haha

Yeah it is. But at the same time, I could probably fix whatever was wrong if I did mess up traditionally... it's just about.. trusting my skills I suppose, haha. But I am planning to make a short comic in watercolor when I get the time, so keep your eyes open ;DΒ

Yeah you should try it out! It's fun, but also a bit challenging, mostly on the patience part xD And it's a bit like... lots of small drawings on one page, sooo yeah. You should try though!Β

I know, it can be really hard. It's easy to make the first pages look fabulous!!! But then as the story continues you kind of get impatient... because you want it to move on. That's why I think it's good to do a simple style(like I do with heLLp where it's just ink and red) if you're planning on doing a LONG comic, or a comic you don't know how many pages it'll be, while if it's just... 4... 8... or you know exactly how many pages you want it, then it's easier to do color because you kind of know how long you'll be doing it... if you know what I mean? xD It's easier to hold on, when you can see an end to the hard work...Β

Agh I'm so glad someone else has this problem!! Or you'll be really excited to get to a certain part of the plotline or to draw a certain panel but!! you have to draw the ones leading up to it first!! UuuughΒ
Yeah 'cause the comic i wanna draw is supposed to be pretty darn long. I mean, i wouldn't mind drawing it in a fancy style if i had someone else to colour it for me! (but alas, my teamwork skills are none)
But yeah I get what you Β mean xD aagh why must drawing take so much effort!! I guess I could keep my pages only slightly coloured and go all-out on cover pages and stuff...

Haha, I think a lot of people struggle with the same thing... ooor they don't really think much about it and get scared off when they realize how freakin much time it takes to do a comic... And then they just do a few pages and stop... or they do a few pages, then they redo them again and again because their skills evolve as they draw, and they want the whole comic to be equal quality....Β
To be honest, if it's your first comic, I recommend doing something similar to what I did; decide on some simple things you can follow up, like maybe one color or really simple shading or something, and just do it! it's really hard in the beginning, but after a while, you'll be surprised how skilled it'll make you!Β
Whenever I feel unhappy with a page or a panel, I always have to remind myself that the NEXT page will be better, and instead of spending ages on ONE page that people will spend 5 seconds looking at, I want the story to keep going, and I'm always looking forward to reach new points in the storyline! >u<Β
Also it's not that normal to have the same quality on the comic as on the covers, so doing awesome covers is a good idea! Anyway, I wish you gooood luck UuU And I'm always here to discuss comic making, hehe!Β

Thanks!! I'm planning to see if I'll be able to actually do a whole comic like this. It'll take ages though xDΒ
