This is probably one of my favorite recent traditional pieces @_@ I made it for *Ckirean as one of several christmas drawings.

It's their character, Dexter.
There is actually a story behind the drawing. Dexter is a leader for a bunch of people in a kind of deserted world. There is a disease that is spreading and making people sick. Dexter himself doesn't get affected by the disease, BUT he has a nasty cough(And he is a carrier of the virus, sort of) Soooo when drawing this, I though that even if his immune of the virus, the cough will probably take him some day <<....

The mask on the ground is a mask Dexter usually wears.

Thanks! It's actually one of my favorites too And yes, watercolor, black ink for the lines and marker for the red background!

Aah, aw I'm so sorry to hear that ono But yeah, I haven't really looked closely at it, I just assumed I saw what it was, but then suddenly it was something else, and I realized it was a dog! I can't imagine what it's like to lose a dog, but strangely enough I dreamt that one of my two dogs at home(Right now I live in a different country from where I'm actually from and where my parents live with our two dogs) had died. My mom kept sending me text messages about it and it made me... SAD(you probably know what it's like to be VERY VERY SAD in a dream, most people do xD) Another bad/confusing thing about the dream was that in the dream I wasn't sure wether it had really happened or if it had just been a dream within the dream(In the end it appeared that I had indeed been dreaming it IN my dream...?) Haha

Well, you may wonder why I tell you about my dream, haha, but I just thought it was strange you told me you had lost your dog the same day I had been dreaming that I myself lost mine o_o (coincidences are so strange!) I also felt like.. sharing it... to someone... =u="

Anyway, she truly looks beautiful ~ ;u;

Thanks for sharing, I can imagine the pain and fear... and yeah...

I was hers completely. She was a pretty girl but her soul was staggeringly beautiful. The kind of creature that made you believe there wasn't a reason in the world why you shouldn't be in love with life.

I am just glad to have known her...

One fine day with a woof and a purr a baby was born and it caused a little stir ~~
I'm going to have that stuck in my head for ages now after I read the title of this artwork

Anyways, I really love the blood affect around the mask on the ground, generally I dislike a lot of white because it is a bit of an over powering shade, but in this it makes a really good contrast with the red. I really like this piece
