Description
Yes, here it comes my very first meme. I've been wanting to do this long time, but I suck at making templates, luckily I managed to find free template to use, this one was made by SithVampireMaster27 - template can be found in here.As you can see there are mostly animated characters in my list and most of them are female, I tend to watch series that are animated, I mostly watch anime, and can relate the best to female characters. Anyway, let's get started!
10 - Charlene Davidson (From Original Biker mice from Mars) Charley was once my number one most hated female character. When I was very small I was big fan of Biker Mice, which was concired "wrong" among boys that went same kindergarden as I, just because I was a girl. I never liked the way Charley was kidnapped or used as hostage, what can I say? Those are cliches that annoy me, but she's not bad character, she knows how to handle even most difficult situations and definitely she is no damsel in distress, also she's in her early 20's and already has her own bussiness - Last Chance Garage going on, that's quite impressive! Reason why I still don't like her character - I don't hate her, but I don't really like her either, I just don't find her that interesting.
9 - Harry James Potter (From Harry Potter series) - When I first started reading Harry Potter, I was 11-years by that time, I liked Harry's character, I thought he was awesome character, but at that time I didn't pay too much attention to characters I liked, it wasn't until I re-read the books few years ago and realeased that Harry wasn't that interesting character, you know if J.K Rowling had written the books wrong Harry would've ended up being too perfect in any way, but luckily J.K Rowling knew what not to do with his character. Okay, he had bad childhood, no one really cared for him, but so what? World isn't fair. And after he kicked Voldemort ass he got happy ending with his girl, everything was fine, you would think he would suffer from something he had seen during his long journey, but no, everything is fine. I don't hate the books or movies, they're done good, I still have favorite characters, Harry just isn't one of them.
8 - Sakura Haruno (Naruto) I liked Sakura when I started to read the manga, but I didn't have much of brains that time. Soon Sakura's personality and Sasuke-fan girlism started to annoy me, and the fact she never could do anything, she just whined about things and needed to be saved, she was always mean to Naruto who tried to do his best for her, but nothing was enough. I admit she got better in Shippuden, but she still annoys the hell out of me, she hits Naruto for no reason of all and she's basically just a copy of my favorite character in the whole series, who also happened to be her master. Sakura could be higher on this list but there are more horrible characters than her.
7 - Jason Grace (Heroes of Olympus) A son of Jupiter, king of the heavens, favorite of Juno, the best Roman half-blood we have, who happens to have perfect looks and skills of fighting. He's basically Superman. I liked him at first, but as I read the book I realized that this guy can't never beat Percy, Percy is in my opinion better more likeable character in any way. At the ending Jason started to go on how he beat some bad guys during the Titan war, he already managed to bore me with his "I don't remember anything! Oh, Thalia is my lost sister!"-crap so I was like "Shut up already!" I don't like Jason as a character, no matter how much exiting things there are in his past, no matter how awesome his character may be, I find him boring.
6 - Piper McLean (Heroes of Olympus) My god, this character is the reason I didn't finish the Mark of Athena. I know how many people go on about Piper being a Mary-Sue, but even if she is there's much worse Sues existing out there. Like Jason, I did like Piper's character at first, but soon enough her personality started get to me, seriously your father is rich and you're so unhappy so you steal cars to get his attention? Your father gets kidnapped and you can't tell your friends - I don't remember anymore why and I don't care but seriously they are your freaking friends, if you can't trust them, you can't trust anyone. And her pushy relationship with Jason, please you weren't his girlfriend or anything, not really. I don't like how Piper was written as tomboy yet she's pretty as hell, I get that she's daughter of Aphrodite but still. She's not even half as useful as Annabeth is.
5 - André Grandier (Versailles no Bara) I love this anime and manga, I love Oscar's character, but I hate André. Yet again this is one of those characters I find boring. He seems to me as a forced love-interest, okay, he looses his sight for Oscar, and whines about how he can't never see her again, but André that was your decision, you were told what would happen. Not to forget the scene where he tried to poison Oscar to dead prevent her for getting married to another man, okay he's madly in love with the woman he can never have, I get that, but taking or almost taking her life seemed pretty damn selfish to me, I'm sorry André you won't get any sympathy from me.
4 - Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ruyzaki and Fuu Hououji (Magic Knight Rayearth) This series is way too overrated as are these characters. I've read the manga almost all volumes, I don't like these characters one bit, there's nothing to like, they have no distinctive personalities, they are all the same, thwir friendship is poorly written. I mean when they just met everyone's like I would die for you if it came to it! But seriously they don't know anything about each other, they never fight, like good friends sometimes tend to do, it's like they are written to be perfect, no mistakes, no personality, no nothing there's to like or learn about these characters.
3 - Usagi Tsukino, Mamoru Chiba and ChibiUsa (Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon) Yet another trio of overrated characters. Usagi is selfish crybaby, reincarnated moon princess and future queen of our planet, Mamoru is her sweetheart reincarnated once prince of Earth destined to become Earth's new king with his girlfriend, ChibiUsa is spoiled future-daughter of the two. When I started to watch Sailor Moon, even then I asked to myself what's with this character? Then I read that Japanese liked crybaby-characters, they found it cute. I learned to like Usagi, until now, she's the special one, she's the friend you can always count on but no matter how I try to look it, I hate her character, she's better in the manga - and would be in the new series as well if it weren't for Kotono Mitsuishi's voice. But still I don't like her character, maybe it's because what she did in her past life, killed herself when her lover was gone, that's something I've already hated, even if this is anime/manga no guy is worth of taking your own life. Besides Sailor Moon is always saved by her man, only season I started to like her character was the final season, then there was no Mamoru, no future daughter around, in the manga Sailor Moon even have to deal with her friends dying around her and she can't stop it, that's the character development I like. As for Mamoru, in the first anime he's not very interesting person, in the manga he has few moments but that's it, ChibiUsa is spoiled brat who everyone seems to like, I don't remember her that much from the anime but when I read the Black Moon Arc again, I noticed how annoying she was, she freaking stole her mom's sailor crystal for her own needs - causing the fall of her own planet, then she wanted to have her own father as her lover as she was turned into Black Lady, she caused much trouble but at least one of them caused her to loose someone she held very dear. Sometimes I feel Sailor Moon is overrated series, but there's few characters I like, these three aren't one of those. One thing that annoys me the most is that Usagi and Mamoru are meant to be, but what about other Sailors? They do deserve love too, not just her..
2 - "Snow Queen" Elsa of Arendelle (Frozen) I know I'm getting lot of hate for saying this, but I hate Elsa. She's no snow queen, she's just pitiful excuse for a woman that can't control her emotions. Her personality constits of fear, I mean Elsa could've been and would've been bad ass character, but they changed her. I would've loved to see evil Elsa, but instead we get this one. What bugs me the most is that she just runs way and freezes her kingdom entirely. When I saw this movie I was like, hey didn't you bother to watch what happened around you? And why couldn't she just tell Anna about her powers after the death of their parents? Another thing is she basically was locked away in her room, so she could control her powers, but it looked to me that she didn't even try to control over her powers, it's not her fault of course, blaim it on her parents will you? Then she froze her sister's heart and everyone forgives her. Still there's the ending where Elsa fully controls her magic but how long? I mean everyone has bad days, what will happen when she does?
1 - April O'Neil (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2012) or as I like to call her April Mary Sue O'Neil. Or just Canon Sue. Few of those I've been talking on deviantart, know that before I started to watch the series, I was mostly enchanted by this new April thanks to her lovely desing. I was sure she would become my favorite, but well she didn't. When I saw her, I felt nothing towards her character, she wasn't interesting, she didn't do anything other than be captured, saved by our heroes - oh, wait wasn't that what 1980 version did? At least she was likeable, this one however is not. She's the special one, she is going to be kunoichi, she receives a weapon meant for master Splinter's not so dead daughter (who became my favorite instead of April-Sue), she's soon discovered to be special and the reason why the Kraang are doing what they are doing, as she's the one known as the one - for April is half-Kraang and possess Carrie White kind of powers, meaning she's the center of the universe. It would be okay if she was likeable, well she isn't. She acts bratty and is over-confident at times, sometimes I feel like she doesn't even apreciate what the turtles are doing for her, I also feel that she's only using Donatello's feelings for her - I can't explain this, it's just a feeling I get. Donnie deserves someone much better than April. When I first heard of Donnie having a crush on April, I was looking foward of seeing it, I mean I thought it would be cute to watch, and it could've been if there would be any chemistry or that kind of friendship between them as in the 2003 version, but there isn't. Oh and did I mention how quickly she mastered tessenjutsu yet Karai and turtles spent years learning their own fighting styles. April is the main reason I've started to loose my interest on this series.
As for recent episodes I admit I'm really close to saying goodbye to the whole series. April just does that. Every time I recall her being in trouble she uses her powers which she perfectly masters now and takes care of everything. I hate how they haven't explained what April actually is and those "special" powers of her. I think they have highlighted April speciality mainly her psychic powers in the beggining episodes of season 3, sorry to say but I rather would like to see turtles and Casey in action not this bitch.

I'm sorry you don't like Hatry Potter. But I agree about Nickelodeon's version of April, it simply feels out of place. Other incarnations of April O'Neil are way better than this one (My favorite incarnation of April O'Neil is the one from 1990 movie of TMNT)

It's not that I don't like him, as a character he just felt bland at times.
That she does. For me she seemed so fake of a person every time she talked something I had this feeling she was just pretending to be a friend or what have you. I don't think the creators knew what they wanted her to be which is why this happened. It's not like they didn't try to make her matter, it's that they tried too much and made her over power in my opinion. My favorite April has to be the one from 2003 show but out of the movie version I'd stick with the 1990 as well. She was the most April-like out of them. 2014 was more like Megan Fox trying to play April O'Neil but was mostly just playing herself.

I really hate Usagi and her mary-sueness. Mamorou bothers me because he was in college when he started dating a MIDDLE SCHOOL AGED CHILD! FUCK OFF PEDO. I don't care if you have destiny on your side it is still not okay. Rini drove me nuts, she is so freaking aggravating and her lust for her father at that young of an age shows severe mental issues.
The sad left overs of Sailor Moon is that Magical Girl shows are so formulaic and follow the same chosen one, only one can save the day bullshit. MLP has become the new Sailor Moon where TS and her family gets elevated to royal status while the "underlings" get nothing in return.

I'm glad someone actually said those things. Usually when you point out all of Usagi's Mary-Sue traits people are quick to yell at you and point out that her life isn't perfect. Well it may not be perfect but she still has these traits and when you think about it she's set to be freaking goddess of the whole world I think her non-perfect life loses it's meaning. And Mamoru... when I was watching the series I didn't even know how old that guy was, but that is creepy. Destiny or not it's creepy as hell. If this was real world cops would be tailing Mamoru by now Yeah Rini had a father complex, not to mention how rude she was. Look Rini, if you don't want to be born you just keep at it. I can't understand after all she pulled Usagi still chose to have her -_-
That does suck, at least Princess Tutu was bit different but usually it's the same stuff all over again. I haven't watched new generation of MLP so I don't really know anything about it For some odd reason Twilight Sparkle just annoys me and I don't know why

Through this kind of page, I see that it is not enough to judge the characters according to our life, because fiction is fiction. There is a narrative context, a literary dramatization, a romantic spirit or a state of mind that can not be reduced just to "I do not like it because it is childish, selfish, etc."

I'm glad I'm not the only one Usually people give Usagi excuses like she's a main character or something and for ChibiUsa because she's just a kid and Mamoru gets excused for being "good looking" or something. Heck he's most boring character I came across while re-watching first two seasons of Sailor Moon.

Mamo isn't even that good looking. I believe that Usagi and Chibiusa are dumbass characters who are supposed to grow but I'm not sure what the hell they learned becuase they are still dumbasses in the last season. Granted, in the manga, they are slightly more rounded but not entirely. In fact the manga has the most annoying thing calling Usagi a god. If god was really that pathetic, I'd rather burn in hell. As for Mamo, he is only there for plot convience, though he has a better role in the manga. And if you think Mamorou was bad, Seiya is much worse.....this is why I ship Diamond x Usagi....

Harley92 In reply to EdgeLordess [2015-12-13 13:03:06 +0000 UTC]
I have always thought Mamo looked boring, even when I first saw the anime. Well since this is shoujo, main characters are kinda meant to be dumbasses, I believe Naoko Takeuchi said Usagi's personality was based on her own.. Mary-Sue much? Usagi never really goes anywhere, she's always the same, only time she had some (but rather poor) character development was during season 5 when Mamoru couldn't be the knight in shining armor but then we get Seiya..
Manga was slightly better but the storyline was lame. Reincarnation of a princess who is set to become the new god? So lameee. Well she gets what she deserves in the distant future, since it's implied all her loved ones are killed by Chaos as Usagi didn't have a stomach to finish the fight because she's "too nice and forgiving" or whatever. She's not even realistic character where as Mamoru isn't realistic male character, compared to Usagi he is weak and I can't take "love story" like this seriously. I'd rather see a couple equally strong than this..
I kinda liked Seiya (but I was 16 when I last saw the Stars season, so I didn't think much of anything) but in the manga she was made boring and if I recall correctly they didn't even explain why she liked Usagi or if they did it was some lame excuse..
I like to ship Diamond and Usagi too, Diamond is much more interesting character than Mamoru besides I think he deserved to be loved.

I don't mind characters being based off the creators, as long as it fits in the universe. However to be a god, you have to be worth the title. You know who is actually a god? Buffy. She deserves the title, and Buffy has a lot of Sailor Moon elements. And the reincarnation dosen't bother me either. I really do like the mythology elements in Sailor Moon, but Usagi kills it for me. As for Diamond....poor Diamond.

What really bugs me with Usagi isn't the fact that she's the "star" of the show, I think mythology and reincarnations are pretty cool but she doesn't do anything unless she really has to. All she does is cry and whine about things. So not worth of the title. I don't like a character like this gets her fairytale ending and ends up being a queen of the whole world. I agree with you, Buffy for the win! She has saved the world many times and even died willingly few times while doing so. Everyone pretty much dies for Sailor Moon to save her but..
Okay I admit she does die herself but then it's back to the same page where we started.

Indeed, even when Usagi *does* die, all she has to do is press the Cosmic Reset Button, aka use the Ginzuishou to revive everyone, and everything will be fine and dandy.
And I also don't like the fact that only *she* gets her happy-ever-after, while the others are fated to be alone for the rest of their lives. That's the main reason why I never liked Crystal Tokyo in the first place; that and the whole 'Be purified or I'm banishing you to Nemesis' gives a *very scary* implication that Usagi isn't above using her ASC (all-powerful Silver Crystal) to get what she *feels* she deserves.

There was this Sailor Moon Fan-series called "Solar SailorS" that touched upon the subject with Usagi always reviving everyone and it being sort of unbalancing things.. or at least it tried but then it ripped off Buffy the Vampire Slayer. My point is: Isn't Usagi kind of abusing Ginzuishou's power, I mean she always ends up revived or she revives her friends, shouldn't be some sort of rule for her like there's with Pluto, that should time be stopped she must die. To me it seems like Usagi is breaking sort of balance constantly being revived or reviving others. What's dead should stay that way.
Usagi seems very selfish to me, it's always Mamo-chan, Mamo-chan, if he dies then I will.. blah blah. Okay the subject of other Senshi having to dedicate their whole lives to serving their all powerful princess and not getting their ever afters isn't really touched upon in the original anime, as far as I can remember but it seems to be very clear in other versions. Usagi herself doesn't consider this even once which makes me dislike her even more. It's as long as SHE gets her man and her spoiled brat everything is as it should be, she basicly has every thing she could want. I would have loved to see other Senshi having happy endings as well. Besides if the new Silver Millenium/Crystal Tokyo-timeline is supposed to be all happy why does Usagi need to have body guards anyway? She seems very selfish friend yet everyone in the show seems to love her.
I completely forgot about that! Seriously I don't remember much about SMC - expect I felt like Usagi had been made a Mary-Sue. One could argue ChibiUsa caused the events of season 2 but Usagi was the one who technicly started it by banishing the bad guy(s) to Nemesis. In the manga she could've destroyed Chaos all together but instead she chose to save her friends and prince. If I remember correctly this causes her lose everyone she held dear in the distand future.. way to go Usagi. You rule.
There should have been some laws considering the uses of Silver Crystal, there's that thing it will absorb the life force of the user but that never kills anyone but Queen Serenity.. Usagi is revived one way or the other. I think she does abuse her crystal constantly reviving her friends or herself.. there really should be laws against that. Hmmm.. actually that thing on second season of Crystal with the bad guys being banished to Nemesis made me think, what if Usagi isn't that kind-hearted ruler everyone sees her being? I'm not saying she's evil but years can change people.

No kidding; that's why I stopped watching Sailor Moon Crystal after Metallia one-shotted the Shitennou: it's like the Inner Senshi don't deserve their own happiness and they should just spend the rest of their lives watching Usagi being happy.
And people wonder why when I write Sailor Moon fanfiction, I tend to portray Usagi as a boyfriend stealer: ([Insert Inner Senshi] is dating someone? OMG! He's hawt! I want him just because I can and Mamoru can go fly a kite!) Even worse if the guy is better (read: richer) than Mamoru; Usagi turns into GoldDigger!Usagi.

That is just unfair. I watched till the first half of the second season until both Usagi and ChibiUsa managed to anger me with their voice (this is you Usagi) and their behavior (hi ChibiUsa, please grow up and learn your mommy isn't all-loved and be your own person).
Well Usagi tends to be selfish friend, if I recall she even admits this in one of the musicals where all her friends want to do their own things, she of course dramatizes this by asking is it because I'm so selfish/crybaby that you want to leave me? I would love to see this scenario where Inner Senshi would just be like no we just want to have our own lifes. They are teenagers, with their lives ahead of them, they should decide if they want to protect this friend and be destined to be alone for the rest of their lives while watching their friend living a fairytale. One could argue this is selfisness but I think everyone deserves to be little selfish.
Hmmm.. in the original series (which I haven't for a long while) wasn't Usagi kinda portrayed as a gold digger? She would get jealous of Rei when she went out on a date with Mamoru whom Usagi at the time disliked. Then she was after Motoki despite him having a girlfriend... sure she wasn't aware of it for the most of the episodes. I haven't read any Sailor Moon fanfiction a side from this Sailor Moon/InuYasha crossover. I'm working on my own fanfiction which will not feature Usagi, if she would appear even as a Neo-Queen Serenity she would give me head ache, much like her voice in the anime. There could be the argument of "You make Usagi too OOC!" but seriously there's a mayor difference how the different medias portray her. In the original anime she was selfish, I found her too whiny and overly annoying, in the manga she was less annoying and was actually more lady-like, in the live-action series she was hyper, but didn't seem to annoy me as much as her other incarnations. Plus we never find out will she become the queen of the earth so it helps.

And speaking of reviving everyone, it bugs me as to why Usagi doesn't revive the Shitennou; Mamoru needs his guardians and the Inner Senshi need their lovers.

I love the Shitennou x Inner Senshi pairings! That was one thing I loved from Crystal that it made it "canon", I thought this was when it was different from manga and letting them live along side their prince and the senshi but noooooo. We can't have that, only Usagi deserves to be happy and she couldn't possibly revive them as they could take Mamoru's attention away from the princess.. Okay I make Usagi seem like a horrible person but why keep the Shitennou alive for so long and them kill them at the last minute? It just bugs me.
I'm not sure if Usagi and Mamoru even talk about them in the series at all. Apart from that one short scene from the second season, they don't appear at all. Besides Inner Senshi had to watch their lovers get killed right before their eyes just few moments after they were reunited, yet no one talks about this with Usagi. I don't get it. We clearly see them grieving over their loss but afterwards I do find it weird no one mentioned this at all. Yes, if Usagi wished, she could have revived them for her friends and Mamoru buuuut... no one ever mentions it.
