Tara goes shopping and enters a shoe store with identical shoes on display.
She's mistaken for a shoplifter, her red shoes seized, packed in a shoe box and placed on the shelf with dozens of identical twin red shoes.
By the time she straightens it out Karl has been sold to an out of state tourist, who paid cash and is thus untraceable!
Tara has to baby sit for her niece, who is a young witch. Tara takes Karl off to rest her feet. The niece steals Karl and tries out a transmutation spell on the shoes,Β turning them into solid, 24 karat gold! Two magic spells from different witches are difficult to undo, Karl is stuck as gold shoes for a while.
The solid gold shoes are stiff, rigid, heavy solid precious metal and unwearable. Tara takes the gold shoes home and places them on the living room shelf. That night burglars break in while she's asleep and steal the gold shoes! By the time Tara finds Karl he's been melted down and made into a gold bar! Incredibly, Karl liked being gold shoes, enjoyed being melted and mixed with other stolen gold and being a bar of gold!

Karl will enjoy being rubbed and waxed with shoe polish!
Tara goes bowling, exchanges Karl for rental bowling shoes, shoe rental mistakes Karl for other identical red shoes. When Tara exchanges the rental bowling shoes she gets back the wrong red shoes, the other woman wearing Karl had already left!
