I friggen love this song. I just /have/ to animate it sometime.
The song is Convoy by C. W. McCall, a song about truckers. It's awesome.
The main character/narrator of the song is a trucker who goes by the name Rubber Duck, and his trucker buddy he talks to is Pig Pen. Duck keeps telling Pig Pen to back off a few miles each time he calls him, since Pig Pen is hauling a truck of pigs and Duck doesn't like the smell xD When Duck arrives in New Jersey with the convoy of trucks, Pig Pen is still stuck behind in Omaha lol. Rubber Duck references a lot of things with trucker lingo like "Jimmy" (GMC Truck), "reefer" (refrigerated truck trailer), and "Shakey Town" (San Francisco). Eventually some hippies join their convoy in a VW bus. It's a fun song x3

His convoy has to deal with "Smokies" or "Bears" which are basically highway patrol officers/state police. His trucker rebellion disobeys the speed limits, not paying tolls, and trucking without sleep.

Rubber Duck, Sodbuster and Pig Pen are in the original 1975 song, and Big Nasty is in the 1978 movie version. I'll probably make more trucker, smokey and hippie characters if I need to. But these are the main ones.

Anyways, these were rough and sketchy pencil drawings from my sketchbook and I'd draw them in class. I cleaned them up a bit in Photoshop, but nothing fancy. These are just rougher character concepts and I may change the designs and color schemes. Some of the poses are a bit awkward but ah well xD I'll be working on final model sheets for all of the characters sometime soon.
