I needed to enter lol It looked like so much fun and I needed to flush out Solar Moonlight more. My bat girl needed some love lol and art work and base are just amazing too!

Childhood meet

A harvest festival was being held outside Manehatten, in a small farming town called Sire Meadows. The Royal Moon family was to attend that year instead of the normal noble pony Prince Blue Blood(could be someone else). A small bat filly was attending the fun fair with her father’s group’s assistant as he and the others were tasked with guarding the outer part of the town while the royal guards protected the family and the inside. Her father was a leader of a small band of adventurers/mercenaries and the town had hired them to be protectors for the festival's duration. On the night of the royal families visit they were to move outside of the festivities to work.
Bored out of mind, as the stallion that was with her was a no nonsense kind of colt and he had been watching her like a hawk and winning her games for her. She was NOT having fun. She had the pocket bits her father gave her before leaving for work so she just needed to lose the stiff but with him watching so closely her attempts have all ended in failure.
It was then she noticed another child covered in a dark clock looking lost. She looked back to the boring pony attempting to win a fish for her, the one game she found the colt wasn’t very good at, she turned slowly and stepped down from the stool she had been placed on to wait and made her way over to the child. “You lost?” She asked, watching the boy turn with a slight jump to face her. The bat filly saw the prettiest shamrock green colored eyes look at her. “My favorite color..” She mumbled.
“Excuse me?” The little colt questioned, confused. Not realizing she was staring, she blinked to clear her head.

“Sorry.. Are you lost?” She asked again, smiling warmly. He looked warily around before looking back at her.

“Kind of?” he said, stepping closer. “I don’t know what to do first…” She tilted her head at him, a little confused with what he said. “I’ve never been to something like this…” The colt said sheepishly.

“Ah! Ok!” She giggled realizing what he meant by Kind of. He wasn’t lost-lost, he was just lost with what to do first. The boy blushed, narrowing his eyes at her. “Do you want to play with me?” She asked, grinning widely at him. “We can go on rides together!” She said then started listing off lots of other stuff to do together. “Then we can play games, maybe even get some candy! Oh, oh then-” The boy interrupted her.

“I don’t even know you…” He said. “I just wanted to know what to do at the festival..” A Little sad she looked away. Before looking back at him. ‘He must be afraid of strangers..’ she thought.

“My name is Solar, Solar Moonlight!” She said a little louder than intended, “I’m not a stranger now right?” she asked with a determined face. “We can play now, right?” She asked sadly looking at him with her face downward. (The puppy dog stare lol)

The boy looked at Solar perplexed, then looked around again and signed before saying, “Ok..”

The kids had alot fun despite not really knowing each other and at the end of the festival they were able to return to their families and deal with the issues that would have caused. Solar never did get the colts name. She’d look back at this memory and would call the boy Shamrock

Later in life

Coming to Canterlot, Solar intended to join the Guard, to step away from her father’s Mercenaries and the like. She was tired of always moving and not having a place to call home. She loves adventuring but not having a home to look forward to after the adventure was becoming too much for her.

She signed the papers and past her written tests with average scores now came time for the physical tests. Something she was looking forward to greatly

She has her own weapons and was able to be tested with them by one of the instructors instead of one of the other entries.

The instructor was an older unicorn mare. The Mare stared down at her. Solar realized that this pony wasn’t happy with her for some reason. Prepared, Solar readied herself for anything. She often dealt with being underestimated when she was out with her father and them so this Mare would be no different from the others.

The fight left everyone watching in awe. The double ended spear Solar had chosen to take her test had broken part way through the test but the instructor hadn’t stopped the fight; it didn’t stop Solar. The spear was still usable. She then had 2 weapons and was able to knock the instructor out of the ring.

Needless to say, she passed and was able to join the guard, becoming a fresh trainee knight. Not only that but was able to join the school of canterlot in the knights deviation, as her age was still young. (I assume Nightfall attended school normally later in life.) I’d believe this would be the second beginning of how they met.
