It had only been a few months since she'd left the home of her parents, and yet Evonna found the cavernous Maw to be suddenly so unwelcoming. Perhaps some dark presence sensed her unworthiness to be here, and crept along so quietly just behind her, exuding its disapproval, waiting for her to leave. But, Evonna had a job to do. She had promised Ylva to search, and search she would... until she could no longer stand to brave the dark alone, that is. Hackles raised, Evonna crept along, low to the ground, avoiding stalactites and rocky obstacles beneath her feet. A sudden beam of light hit her eyes, and she flinched back, but it was only a natural skylight, letting in the light of the moon. Damned thing, she thought, shaking off her fear. How would she ever find the elusive vein like this?
