Wolf smashed his arm into the table, scrambling the neat lay of cards. "I've played every one of your games," he shouted, "and I've beaten you every time. The games are over!"

"Oh, I'm not finished yet," smirked the disembodied voice. From below Wolf's feet a fan started up, sending dozens of playing cards fluttering into the air, swirling around Wolf's head. Irritated, Wolf waved his arm, trying to bat away the cards. He winced as he felt a card slice his bicep painfully.

He tried to get out from the whirlwind of cards, more of which were nicking his powerful shoulders, but suddenly nothing was working properly and the swirling cards were making the room spin around him so that he was no longer sure which way was up. He followed a card with his bleary eyes as it sank slowly to the floor and then he could feel the floor under his back and there was the patter of the cards falling to the floor around him.

He was in that familiar tunnel, which was pulling him further and further from reality. From a distance he heard the voice. "You've had a busy day, Wolf. Go to sleep, have a good rest. You'll need your energies..." The voice trailed off. Wolf was just conscious enough to feel the croupiers pick him up by his limbs and then he gave up the unequal fight.
