"There was a much earlier rivalry that began in 1995, when Dominic (Diesel 10) arrived to work on Sodor's new Ironworks. As he was making his way there, a red industrial Allcroft A5 sneaked behind until the perfect moment. Right then and there, she whistled her whistle and scared 10 into crashing into a washing line, not before Kate saying "April fools!". This moment between her and 10 was taken by an photographer, who remain anonymous, and sent it to a friend of theirs called Britt Allcroft. Allcroft was looking for ideas for a feature film for both the TV Series and Shining Time Station. She found it to be perfect and would soon send the photo to a lot of investors. Both would find out the movie, on Kate's last week on Sodor before transferring to the real life version of The Magic Railroad in Shining Time. Kate finds it happy that what she did gave them a movie to be featured in but then quickly regrets it as it would humiliate Diesel 10 more. Throughout the years of 1995 to 1999, Kate would continue to be cheeky towards him while the latter would continue to ignore her. Kate knew she had to say sorry, which she did. 10 accepted the apology and wished her well on her new life in Shining Time.

18 years later, in 2017. Kate makes her return to Sodor when Shining Time built a new Allcroft A5 to replace Lady. Kate (who's name was changed into Lady) has been wanting to go back home for a long time now and see her old friends again. A deal to bring her back was expensive but Richard was optimistic to buy her out. When she returned, everyone cheered for joy. Lady would turn back into Kate and begin to work on the Ulfstead Branch Line, still under her private ownership. Dominic was surprised to see her again and welcomed her back with a much better attitude towards steam engines and a happier mood overall. Whenever they past each other, they both smile and continue to chug across the line.
