Description Alrighty, so I'm currently playing with the teenage Justice League idea. I have an opening in mind and everything. It involves Hal Jordan and Arthur.

I'm a jerk and drew Arthur being deprived of water. << >> Huhuhuhuhuh.

"Aquaman? Lolwhut?" Yes. I've been trying real hard to get myself to like him and appreciate him as an interesting and likable character. I've spent two decades doing nothing but making fun of the guy, because - really - I don't care what you say - he was never very cool. I say he upgraded in awesome once he got a hook hand and a beard in the Justice League series, but even so, he wasn't exactly doing it for me, personality or power-wise. I mean, come on! Cartoon Young Justice's Aqualad trounces Aquaman in almost every way. He's got hydrokinesis, funky electric stick things and WEB HANDS. Totally bossome (that's boss + awesome). I was thinking about giving my version of Aquaman these traits, but I heard from a friend that Calder is utilizing magic and Atlantean royalty are not allowed to wield magic (good, I hate magic D<). Don't know if I'm allowed to give him gills en stuff though. Is Arthur's race strictly human-esque? I have no idea. If so, what the crap is Calder?! xD

Sooo... Arthur is essentially left with super strength, super endurance, adaptation to aquatic life, and fish summoning. Lame. Like that'll help in an urban environment. But then I got to thinking about the radness of being able to summon sea serpents and other incredible mammoths from the deep that are unknown to human society. Maybe he can beckon the help of amphibious monsters that can crawl on land. Like... like Cloverfield! And those little Parasite things! 8D NIIIICE. Maybe I can get him to hide sea snakes in his clothes... LOL. If I can get Fishstick to be less of a joke and more like an epic Druid... hmmmm...

I had an idea that would make him possibly even less cool, but more entertaining, and that is he has no idea about his telepathy, which develops as a result of puberty. He attracts random sea monsters to his presence - resulting in him wigging out. xP They would also show themselves when they believe he's in danger, whether that's really that case or not. ... AQUA-AWKWARD.

Turning his body into water would be cool. Wouldn't it? WOULDN'T IT? Oh wait, that's considered magic, huh?

Well, if there are any Aquaman experts out there (lol, you're a dork xD), do leave a comment and share your knowledge, because I won't lie. I hardly know anything about Atlantis OR Fishstick. I need some Aquaman comics or something.

... I'm hiding those behind the shelf.

You know what? I stand corrected. Aquaman HAS been cool in some form of media.

AQUA-AWKWARD. Why is this so awesome? Teenage superheroes are the best.

You ideas are pretty awesome! I dig the concept with Arthur running away from the monsters he had summoned. xD It's far too entertaining, indeed! Speaking of monsters, you draw them fantastic. The one with tiny heart-sign on his head amuses me greatly. Also, I have no words for Arthur's face in the middle. Simply no words! Thank you for sharing!

Aquaman can swim at speeds of mach 10. He can endure 500 atmospheres of pressure. He can punch a hole through a submarine. He has once devolved a Super Evoloved shark by 100 million years. He has been able to command the Millenium Giant, a monster even Superman feared. He can telepathically cause a martian to have a seizure. He is one of the strongest telepaths in the DC universe. He used to have a giant skull ship that defeated the Japanese military. He defeated the Sea God, Triton, whom was son of Poseidon. He allowed himself to get killed, so he could rescue Poseidon rom the Underworld. He has ripped the head of Cereberus off its neck and allowed the other head to scream for Hades's attention. With the Trident of Poseidon, Aquaman could kill a God. He is also capable of using echolocation to detect enemies. His hearing, and sensitivity to air pressure allow him to counteract attacks before the come. He can enter the mind of a sentient machine and force it to obey his will.

"He is also capable of using echolocation to detect enemies. His hearing, and sensitivity to air pressure allow him to counteract attacks before the come." Ooooo, intense! I think I'll play with that. As for everything else... I guess my version's too lame for all of that. Mach 10? For goodness sakes! xD

Thank you very much for the insight on all things Aqua-fish. I'll be sure to use some of that stuff whenever I'm defending him from Aqua-haters. Hehe.

He once had a telepathic battle with Kordax. This battle caused all sea life all over the world to go insane simply by the psychic shockwaves. Had Kordax and Aquaman continued their battle the entire Atlantean race would have gone into a vegetative mental state.

When Aquaman had full access to his mental powers he tortured Kordax mentally to the point where Kordax committed suicide to escape Aquaman. He was also able to take control of the dragon, Tiamat and completely submit it to his will. His telepathy allows him to communicate long distances.

And here comes my totally inappropriate crush on a fictional character.

Personally I think he's much of an underestimated character, he has so much potential but sometimes it comes out badly.
But having him a bit insecure and all these weird creatures stalking him... I like that! Even though I'd like him to be badass too. :U

But being able to control fluid is sort of cool too, and maybe he could be all clumsy with that too and make waterbottles and stuff explode... Idk but I but I'm positive you'll think of something cool! : D

Bottles exploding. LOL I love that. I dig young Arthur having explosive power but being clumsy with it. xD And don't worry. He wouldn't be a loser forever. He only just started being metahuman-y. He'd pull off a lot of HOLYCRAPWHEREDIDTHATCOMEFROM moves, like his super strength and the fact that he can summon leviathans. Heeee.

Thank you so very much for your thoughts. ;]

"Atlantean royalty are not allowed to wield magic"

What about Aquaman's wife? I thought she uses sorcery? Shes a Queen thus royalty as well.

Mera comes from Dimension Aqua (if I remember correctly), where her race is the dominant one. So she's not quite like her husband.

there's a new Aquaman title coming out after Flashpoint if you're not in a hurry.
other then that I'd say go ahead and give him the magic. his wife was using tons of water magic in one of the Young Justice Eps, "Down Time" I think.
When you think about it Aquaman is actually pretty amazing. All the other heroes take care of one city while he has to take care of, like, %90 of the planet.

I saw the dried out Aquaman and all I could think of was "Take a wet sponge to him or something, GOD."

Also, Claaaaark ;3; <333

I think Aquaman was by far my favorite in Smallville, where he trumped Clark in the water. Super speed swimming, AWAY!
