Mmmmmmmm, I love his expression! His mouth is brilliant, he looks so happy and so aaawwww ^__^. Reminds me of a happy dog *licks his master's hand* ^___________^ Eheheeee, oooh, and his eyes are brilliant! ^_^ I love how much detail and effort you put into them! ^__^

Did you draw this on paper, scanned it in and outlined it with a mouse? O_o That's damn clear line art! ^_^ Awesomeness!!

Thank you so much! ^_^_^ I wish I could draw you a giftart in return... but I can't draw ^_^;;; Have a glomp instead! XD

This version is a scanned sketch, Then colored. I now ink my drawings in the gimp so from know on they will be even cleaner (so the lines you see are my pencil lines, darkened with the levels control).

Yes, the gimp supports layers. For simple editing I always use the gimp. For everything else I use Photoshop cs3. Sadly the gimp just is not up to the quality of Photoshop yet, but its close (and for free it's a good introduction to image editing).

Wow, awesome! ^_^ I like this workflow... Does Gimp support layers? I can imagine that colouring a scan can be a thorough nuisance with only one layer O_o...

Thank you! I worked on the mouth the longest. At one point I was worried I was going to erase a hole in the paper. I created this in between patrons while at work.

It is a very good mouth, I love the detail in the teeth!

I often get pretty far into a drawing... then rub it out completely. It's not fun but it has to be done. Rubbers for FTW!

Those two back molars gave me a time. I had to make them pop out and not appear flat (as molars have a boxy structure unlike the rounded structure of other teeth). It's took a while but thats as good as I could get. I think I went through about 15 versions, and I still feel like they need tweaking. Guess I should remind myself it's a cartoon character and not a lifelike drawing.

Thank you! Once I get my tablet I should be able to do shading and completely drop pencil/paper for almost everything. My poor bank account is going to be in such pain.

Still need to get legs down! Getting close, perhaps my next one will be a full image. Then I have to work on backgrounds. Must keep telling myself it's all worth it. Reading tutorials like they are the latest hot novel.

Ohhhhh ^___^ Good stuff! Bwaha! Yes, tablets are expensive ^_^;; I just have a cheap one, and it does the job just fine ^_^;; I got mine as a second hand christmas present, so I can't complain ^_^;; It's an Aiptek. It's kind of crappy, but as I say, it was free, and it does the job, so...AWESOME

Legs are annoying! Baaahhh!

And good luck with tutorials and things ^____________^ You can learn loads from them, yes

Your the second person I know with an aiptek. My friend does technical drawing and he owns one. He seems to be of the same opinion as you, It works but it's not the best.
