THANKS! Feathers are tough to draw. Everyone knows that feathers are soft, but most of them have hard edges, which can make them look not soft.

I don't understand bristol. It's weird. But this is good.

The Strathmore company makes a lot of different types of artist paper. One of their heavier papers, they call Bristol. It comes in different finishes. The finish that I prefer to draw on is called βsmoothβ. I buy it at the local art supply store in pads containing 20 sheets. The paper is 9β X 12β and is 100lb (260 g/m2) weight. When I say that the drawing is on βStrathmore Smooth Bristol Paperβ it is just my short-hand way of saying all of that. I hope this clarifies it for you.

Iβm sorry, I didnβt understand. Yes, I understand now. It is not for everybody. What I like about it is that it can take a lot of abuse. I guess that I am hard on paper. It doesnβt fold/crease easily and I can erase on it a lot if necessary. With very little texture you have to provide your own by varying the way you apply the pencil. It is good for the way I like to draw, taking a long time to draw very detailed drawings. For quick sketches I prefer a different paper with more βtoothβ.
