Description
asdfghjkl I finally did a step by step drawing~Β Β CLICK DOWNLOAD TO SEE THE BIGGER VERSION!I'm really sorry if the drawing is small. I purposely did that because if I made the drawing bigger it would be such a big file and when I make big files, sai ALWAYS freezes on me I also did this in ONE Canvas (keep copy pasting previous folder in order to do the next step and that is also why the original drawing is small.)
Hope these will help you~
5th -7th Step-: I used 's Oil Water brush settings, air brush tool, and blur tool.
Any questions please ask~
Please do not steal, trace, or copy my artwork please! I worked hard on them!

I'm sorry I tried my best to explain.Β
1: Sketch
2: New layer + Lineart
3. New layers (for each base color)
4. a) I added the yellow to the hair for a source of light. b) Make a new layer on top of each base color and "clip" it. c) I then added a medium shade on top of the base where there would be shadows.
5. I use the oil paint tool to smooth out the shadows. Use blur tool if it's too sharp.
6. a) I made a new layer clip on top of step #4 and added another darker shade of shadows.
7) I smooth the layer (from #6) with oil paint tool and blur tool
8) Made a new layer and added the highlights
9) I erase some of the highlights
10) On the lineart layer, I "locked" the layer that so only the lineart could be color (no other empty space). I used colors that were similar to the base color but darker.
11) I fixed a few things in this step
12) The final result

How did you blend the color towards the black outline?

I'm sorry but I don't understand. Which part (image/ the 2nd, 3rd, 4th image, etc. ) do you need help with? Are you talking about the color by the eyes? The hair?

It's hard to explain, but it's on the 10th image. Example: when you start coloring the skin texture over the black outline like it's been overlay. How you do that?

Ah, I see now. It really helped to point out which image step because each one has a different things done on it. You're talking about how I colored over the lineart from the black, yes?Β
When I was doing this step I had a separate outline from the coloring process (2nd image) and on Paint Tool Sai I first clicked on the outline layer. There are 2 ways to do this.
1)
-make a new layer right on top of the outline layer
-click on "clipping group/layer clip" box located on over the layers section ( there should be 2 other word depiction by the "layer clip" such as preserve opacity and selection source)
-color with pen or brush in that new layer (pick a color to use instead if black, in my drawing I used a brown color for the outline on the skin)
OR (I use this option mostly)
2)
-click on the outline layer
-check the "lock/ preserve opacity" box
-color on the library using a color you wish to use
I hope this helps. It is kind of hard for me to explain but if you want me to make a visual tutorial on how to do it I can make it.
