Description A 3d model of Lyra made in 3ds Max 11.
Figuring out a compromise between the shows front and sideviews without making the head look weird in a 3/4 view was a frigging nightmare.

The body will also serve as a base for all future ponies I'll create.

Well, I'd like to try it because it's a simple design and quite cute. and I think I might actually be able to considering the modelling skills I already have. I guess I'll just have to wait until I get back to college before I will have access to Softimage, though. >:

That's beautiful! Could you render her twice from parallax angles for a cross-eye 3D view? That would be awesome!

I'd like to, but honestly I just can't get that to work properly with my eyes for some reason.

This is one of the best 3D renderings of the ponies I've seen... it's just so awesome!

Wow, adapting such a stylized 2d design is hard, but you make it look easy. This has been translated flawlessly. Well done!

Good work. The 3/4 view is definitely weird in the show, so I always find it great when people successfully transition the style to 3 dimensions.

It's incredible how every single angle looks like it came straight from the show... If I didn't know better, I would have said that you modeled a new model for each picture from reference...

This is some good stuff. You've done a really good job of keeping it totally on-model and filling in all the little gaps that the show leaves out - I'm excited to see more!

3D print that shit and send it to Hasbro. If they don't like it, print them yourself and sell show-accurate pony toys on the black market. That's fantastic.
