Here we have another scene from my Evil Firestar Au "Fire Alone"
Darkstripe isn't exactly the most fun mentor to have when he hates your guts.

The sun had barely risen and most cats still slept warm and cozy in their dens. Save for Firepaw, who had been awoken abruptly by his new mentor Darkstripe. He wasn't sure what to think of the cat, Graypaw had nothing nice to say about him. To be frank if this was the tom who mentored Longtail he wasn't looking forward to training with him. "Well? Don't just stand around, we haven't got all day kittypet.." Darkstrike sneered, tail lashing as he sulked away from the apprentice's den to head for the hollow exit. Firepaw's jaws clenched slightly. So badly, he wanted to make a remark. //I have a name you know..// He knew better than to upset the cat any further though. He clearly wasn't happy with Bluestar's decision. //But that makes two of us..// He bolted off after the dark pelted cat, contemplating if he should inquire about the training for the day or just keep silent.

He chose the latter.

They didn't stop walking for a good while, his paws had grown just a tad sore. He still wasn't used to the long traveling yet. The trip seemed so endless he'd zoned out, only snapping back to reality when he collided with Darkstripe's rear. How lucky could he be? The warrior's pelt bristled with irritation, a low growl rumbling as he spoke. "Perfect.. not only do I get to have the gracious pleasure of mentoring a Kittypet.. but he's a clumsy dolt as well." Firepaw's ears drooped just slightly from the insult, gaze adverting to face the ground. "Uhm...s-sorry.. it was an accide-" His apology was cut short. "Save the excuses for someone who cares. I want to get this over with so I can get back to my nap.." Firepaw watched with anticipation as the warrior distanced himself slightly. "These first few lessons will be an effort to shape you up. You look plump as a queen full of kits. We cats of Thunderclan don't need fat soft-bellies loitering around the camp."

Wow, no holding back huh? Firepaw nodded. He guessed it was going to be something considerably physical then. His mouth parted to question specifics, but all of a sudden, jaws were grasping his scruff, flinging him aside. He let out a shocked yowl as he flew through the air and tumbled into a bush. "Ack!" He squirmed and untangled himself, blinking rapidly as he tried to figure out what had happened. "Wait a second! Aren't you supposed to like.. show me moves first or something?" he hissed as he pried himself free of the tangling plant life. Darkstripe let out an amused mrrrrrow of laughter. "Starclan no- that privilege goes to clan blood cats only. You'll have to at least LOOK the part before I even consider showing you a thing..." the tom-cat unsheathed his claws and Firepaw was beginning to debate if joining wild cats was a good idea.

"Alright Kittypet, show me what you've got.." Darkstripe snarled, and then he lunged at the smaller cat, giving a hefty swing with his large forepaw. Firepaw had no time to try and evade and it collided with him, sending him whirling away yet again with a fresh stinging sensation spreading throughout his leg. He had a feeling this was going to be a long morning.
