I couldn't paint the broadside of a barn, yet I got part of the front of one X3
I'm still not good at cats or pitbulls. I changed the lineart a few times in the middle of colouring this pic

Meet Cat & Java. A pair that is rarely seen apart from each other.

Cat (I should really think of a proper name for him) is a farm cat that seems to be the 'Godfather' of the local cats. He demands payment from the other cats and bosses around rats and mice (it's a 'serve or be eaten' relationship with the rodents) The local cats Nickname him ' Pall bearer' because the only marking on his back is shaped like an old fashioned coffin. His violet eyes make him no less creepy also.

Java, a young pitbull, is one of two dogs that work in the fields herding the livestock, primarily cows. She's shy and very sweet and her tail rarely stops wagging. Java is very sensitive so try not to raise your voice at her.

The relationship between Cat and Java is 'bodyguard and client' on the surface. Cat uses Java as an equalizer when he goes after the other cats for payment. All Java has to do is tag along and stand there. The cats give no argument when she's around. If only they knew she spooks easy X3
Though it seems Cat only uses Java for his own benefit, there seems to be an underlying "father-daughter" thing also. Make Java cry in his presence, and you suffer a fury off claws from him.

Cat and Java both have associations with JC.
Cat was one of JC's first caretakers when she lost her family as a pup.
Java was a stray puppy in an animal control truck bound for a laboratory along with an adult JC. Being the crybaby that she is, JC took pity on her and chose to free Java from the truck instead of herself. In return, Java managed to rally friends get help for JC to escape from the lab.

Cat also gives wayward pups a reality check at JC's request (You'll meet one who is Chiga's daughter)
