"After his siblings noticed that the leg was festering, they restrained him and forced it to be amputated, deeply wounding his pride and traumatizing him."I wanted to have fun and do something simple with Quick, and I felt particularly inspired by a piece of his trivia on his application.

Quick was originally a Deepwoods cat, though now he lives with his family in Green Forest. He had a brief rebellious stint and left the clowders to survive on his own, which went very poorly. He ended up becoming a target to a much larger, stronger cat who caught him by his leg as he ran away and tore it up pretty violently. It ended up severely damaging the muscles and nerves in his leg, and because he didn't have the ability or desire to seek any medical attention his leg effectively died, but when he had to give up his pride and return to the clowders it was too late to save it. He drug his dead leg around for a while, but eventually it was becoming infected and all-around disgusting, so it had to be removed forcefully least it became a health hazard to him and those around him.Β

Yeah. He is doing better now, it has been a little while since then. He still has some mental recovery to do, obviously the trauma still haunts him, but he also loves to run, which is very difficult and potentially dangerous with his new situation.

He's been adapting better and better each day. He still struggles a lot with personal family issues, but every day he gets a little more used to it. (Both his family, and the missing leg.)
He's still kind of trying to find his place in the world though. With his leg he lost a lot of how he defined himself, so he may be having a little identity crisis.Β

I really love the sense of movement in the swipe, and the way you used so few colours and shades to emphasize emotion, honestly it looks freaking FANTASTIC.Β

Honestly I think I owe a lot to his design being so plain, it reallyΒ leant itself well for this piece. It allowed the focus for the piece to be on everything EXCEPT his drawing.Β
