Extended family can be such a wonderfully confusing topic when taken to some of its more genealogical extremes.

So, uh, in recent news, I got to meet some blood relatives of mine that I only vaguely knew existed - I knew only that they lived a few hours away from home and were related through my still-living grandmother. So she came along with other family from out of town, and we went up together to meet these others... I had a good time. They were all quite nice, and we've made arrangements to see each other more often in the future.

But back to this one. She is, technically, my... first... cousin... once removed. Of course, she's much, much older than I am, so I think we're sticking with "Tía" for everyone of her generation, and probably the generation under them - they're pretty much all grandparents at her level.

On the art side of things, this was taken over a low-key chat at this woman's house, done over... twenty minutes, maybe? I'm actually fairly happy with how it came out, especially considering that I'd forgotten to pack an eraser for this trip. ^_^
