Incredible work! The texture really does make the model look higher poly than it is which I believe is the core of game art. I really love the design. Judging only by the visual aesthetic of this creature, I would definitely like to play a game that took place in a world where Runner naturally existed.
I'm just beginning my journey through game development schooling. My focus is 3D character design and animation. I hope I'll be making characters like this before too long

Excellent work on your polygon distribution. Could see a few areas where you could cut back in some places but this is an excellent start.
In the future it'll be good to try and use as much of your UV space as possible to make assets more efficient for game design.Β

thanks, and definitely learned a lot from just this one first run through, realized i didn't need so many ploys for the face and especially the eyes when i started unwrapping, but it was still suer fun x)

A long time ago a friend linked me to a super useful piece of information. its a worksheet put out by valve about how they approach their colors for their characters in DOTA 2 but a lot of what they recommend/show is useful even in modern engines and approaches to 3D modelling. Be sure to give it a read! Maybe your classmates will find it handy too if they haven't already seen it:Β media.steampowered.com/apps/doβ¦
