Last night I was spurred on by a random favorite on my Deviant Art page. A shot I had done about two years ago or so. I liked it at the time. Then I thought, maybe I could make it better? Well, I tried.

Story bit: 15 June 2058. After an extensive overall at Midway Station, SeaQuest is back on the job protecting the seas. It's been 25 years since she last patroled these waters, but with extensive upgrades and an experienced commander, she's up for the task. The plan is for her to return to her duties as a deep ocean research vessel/ peacekeeper, but first she needs to assist slowly re-growing UEO Pacific Fleet in restoring the peace. The collapse of the Alliance of Macronesia after the war and the slow, but steady economic and military failures of the UEO have left their mark on the Pacific. Raiders, pirates, and former Macronesian officers turned fanatics run a large portion of the world's largest ocean. The SeaQuest was once a symbol of the UEO's strength and determination. Not to mention its technological prowess. Captain Ian MacLeod hopes she can be that again. His other hope is that the UEO won't use her as a crutch again. In the words of now Admiral Oliver Hudson (Ret) "Treating SeaQuest like some kind of scientific holy grail was not only arrogant, it was dangerous."
