Scene 6; Thriller

Characters: Buddy and Eva

-----------------------------------------

While the three stooges were gathering kelp, Buddy and Eva had branched off from the others in the creeping forest to gather shroomish spores from the nearby Sapling village. After unintentionally traumatizing a shroomish with his intimidating size, Buddy and Eva managed to get the spores with little trouble. However, on their way out of the village they had a truly terrifying encounter...

It was abnormal, since the coldest of the winds did not reach them earlier. A sudden eerieness came upon the two as they continued along in the forest.

The light was becoming dimmer, now a light shade of reddish orange instead of the bright white they had walked through earlier. The shadows of trees were expanded and elongated, and parts of the forest were darker in shade.

It was clear that the sun was beginning its slow descent....

Surrounded by pure silence, the only noise that arose from it all was the crunching of Buddy's big footsteps. At one point he stopped to sneeze, keeling over a bit from the sudden jerk, in which the sounds of crunching snow halted.
But despite his stop, a following series of crunches was heard.

Buddy immediately knew something was out of the ordinary. He looked up. "Did..... did you hear that?" He said sharply, in a hushed voice.

The cold was bothering Eva a lot, she didn't like the chill at all! But when Buddy had stopped walking she had heard the sounds as if he had still been walking. Nodding just a little she looked around, trying to find the cause of the sound. "Ya I did." she whispered just loud enough for her friend to hear.

The footsteps had faded away when Buddy turned to face their snow-trodden tracks.

No one was there.

He glanced around.

Still nothing.

"..... Someone is probably watching us." He whispered, eyes scouring his surroundings. Buddy began to walk again, but this time in a more slower pace, in caution of any suspected ambush. Again, the steps came, and he stopped to look around.

When he stopped, the steps stopped.

"I don't like this...." He mumbled, clenching his free fist.

"Chuuuuu...." Eva said softly, worry in her voice.

For a few moments it seemed like nothing was going on, that the steps were just merely a part of their imagination, but that all faded away when something white moved at the corner of their eyes.

Buddy growled and whipped around wildly, fully alert.

"Who's there?!"

There was no reply...
Only the chills of the sunset responded to them.

Eva looked around nervously as she looked for the source of what their eyes had seen. "Show yourself!" She called out.

Another few eerie moments passed before a whitish figure materialized at a distance, almost glowing, before them.

It was a blurry image of a weavile, its appearance strikingly bony and ribs buldging out. The thing had an abnormal tilt of its head and revealed a rather disturbing view of its neck- the collar was torn, as if something had mauled it and ripped it apart. Itty bits of flesh jutted out from the base. Its head hung at a fragile, creepy angle, almost as if it could be clipped clean off its neck in a swipe.

Black, soulless pits served as the thing's eyes, appearing so deep that it was almost as if the creature's sockets contained an endless abyss.
The figure slowly turned to the two, its mouth curling into a bitter and disfigured smile, rows of crooked teeth greeting them with a grim note.

Buddy flinched and stepped back, completely in shock of the thing's appearance. It wasn't until he noticed the scar on the creature's face that he recognized who it was. "Y-y-ou?..." He fumbled at his words, too disturbed by the distorted appearance.

Eva was as horrified at what she and Buddy saw, shaking a little at the sight of the creature and wishing she had never seen it. "S-Sl-Slasher..." She whispered, struggling to get out the name.

The figure said nothing. It only opened its horrendous jaw, its head rocking back and forth, as if in a mocking laughter. Then, without warning the figure lunged at them at an alarming speed, mouth expanding.
Buddy cried out and lashed out his arms as fast as he could, bringing them up to protect himself and Eva from the mortifying sight.

He expected sharp claws to impale his arms, but instead the two only felt a burst of coldness pass through their bodies, chilling their heat for a moment before it all returned.

Seconds past. Buddy brought down his arms, shaking a little.
The thing had passed into nothingness- it was gone, as if it were never there.

Eva was shaking where she stood on Buddy's head, very scared at the moment. She couldn't speak. She tried to open her mouth but no words would come out. What had just happened?!

Buddy stood there for a bit, glued to the spot. He had never been so frightened in such a long time... He shifted a little, glancing around nervously before he summoned the strength to speak, his voice still shaking. "W....w-what.... Was... T-that?" He managed, eyes darting from left to right, expecting Slasher to come out again. The weavile... seemed so mangled. Was this some kind of nightmarish move the fiend knew?...

"I...I don't know..." Eva said softly she then slowly looked down at him, clinging to his shoulder as she tried to calm down and stop herself from shaking. "B...but lets just get out of here Buddy. Please...?"

"Y-Yeah... Let's get the hell outta here..!" He said, quickly gathering the goods and slinging them back onto his shoulder. Buddy then bounced off, running as fast as he could, not daring to look back at where the horrendous creature had spawned.

So for those who don't know by now I've been doing Event 3 with my friends and here is my part of our mega collab with the Tao Tree Group ! This part came out so creepy but it was a lot of fun to Rp and help with the pic!
