In a world where the gods were silenced long ago, the Yuan-ti were forced to experiment with ways to create abominations without the magic of their ancestors to guide them. For many years they tried and failed to recreate their ruling class, and were eventually wiped out by a rival tribe of dragonborns who were tired of their violence and sacrilegious depravity. The dragonborns left the younglings of the deplorable race alive and raised them like their own... to what end?

Vivekka was young at the time of the extermination of her people, but old enough to remember their cruelty and fervor. She never fully adapted to life among the dragonborn people, and searches for her place in a world that sees her as a monster.
