Description
For the last two weeks, I've been in Hot Springs, AR. I drove there from NJ. Reading online about the place from people that grew up there, I saw a lot of "there's nothing to do" "no stores" "so boring" "middle of nowhere," type posts. I was a little worried when I went. But boy, was I pleasantly surprised. There is so much in Hot Springs, I love it here. I wanted to capture everything I got in photos for you to see for yourself. Not pictured: spring water from the Mountain Spring Water company, some cool clothes, and my nearly 200$ winnings at Oaklawn Casino. (Lost 40$ today though, so probably not going back ever. Lol)Anime: I was so shocked when I found these anime dvds. When I say "old obscure anime nobody knows but me" I mean it. Somehow, the fye store had both Bakumatsu Rock and New Getter Robo. What are the chances?! Both Ryomas, both my waifus?! Seven of Seven is also a show I love, along with Saiyuki. Amazingly, they had the collector's edition for the Saiyuki dvd, and it had these beautiful Sanzo pencil boards inside which you can see above. I could not believe my luck. All for a great price, too!
Oaklawn stuff: From the casino gift store. Those socks are soooo comfy. Because of my winnings, it could be said that the casino gave them to me for free. Hey-o!
Bath stuff: Hot Springs is famous for hot springs. Who could've guessed? They have a place called Bathhouse row where you can soak in them. There's also a gift shop, so I got two soaps with ducks inside. I also got a mini tub with Hot Springs on the side. There was also a soap shop with handmade soap, which I bought some of too. Isn't it funny how it looks like the duck is taking a bath?
Misc: There are tons and tons of pawn shops in Hot Springs. I found the Apollo statue and hunting knife at one of them. The books and Poe merch were from a Books a Million. And the cutting board was from another gift shop.
In conclusion, I love Hot Springs. In fact, I love it so much that I bought a house here. Yep, ol HaxDev's gonna be a homeowner. Golly! If everything goes well with inspections and all, I'll have a home + half an acre for about 80k. In Jew Jersey something like that would run you 300k, at least. Not to mention the property taxes. Basically, I'm glad that I'm finally getting out of that hellhole. DAB on New Jersey's corpse! Time to add one more to the numbers of the most exited state of the year (for like, a decade straight.) Heck yeah!
Well, that's all from me for now. I'll write a detailed trip review on my site when I get home. But for now, I'm extremely happy. Hot Springs is amazing, simple as.
